What does QDIA mean?

QDIA stands for Qualified Default Investment Alternative. QDIA's were created by the 2006 Pension Protection Act in addition to other automated features for retirement plans. Plan sponsors can now use a QDIA as the default investment for the plan and receive fiduciary protection for the assets in the QDIA. The plan sponsor must meet certain notice requirements to get the fiduciary protection. For more information please contact Investor Services at 800.222.7636.
